Registered Medical Assistant

We provide a wide variety of programs for all ages with special behavioral health and substance abuse programs for children, teens, women, families and older adults.

SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant will assist and support the MD and/or APRN-P in providing quality care to patients. Participates in Quality Improvement activities. Attend medical staff meetings and mandatory staff training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs injections under direct order and supervision from a Physician or ARNP.
  • Performs CLIA waived testing and associated documentation for clients.
  • Develops and reviews client treatment plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Answers phone calls, writes triage notes and relays messages to the Physician or ARNP.
  • Locates necessary records within the EHR to prepare for patient visit.
  • Completes all Patient Assistance Program / Indigent Drug Program forms and assists patients in this process when requested.
  • Refills medication within an approved protocol.
  • Collects patient data including vitals and meaningful use statistics accurately in the patient EHR.
  • Documents receipt of medication delivery by pharmacies and pharmaceutical representatives.
  • Maintain exam rooms for patient visits including inventory of supplies and disposal of biohazardous waste receptacles.
  • Completes medication prior authorization using Cover My Meds or individual insurance plan forms.
  • Additional duties as requested

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of Background, MVR and Drug Free Workplace Screenings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma / equivalent, Registered Medical Assistant Certificate, one year's experience in a psychiatric / behavioral healthcare setting.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida driver's license. Registered Medical Assistant Certificate.
