Mobile Response Team Counselor II

We provide a wide variety of programs for all ages with special behavioral health and substance abuse programs for children, teens, women, families and older adults.

SUMMARY:

Mobile Response Team responds to individuals experiencing mental health crisis (suicidal ideations, homicidal ideations, increased symptomology, psychotic episodes, behavioral outbursts) for individuals within Nassau County.

Counselors conduct screenings, assessments, diagnosing, group and individual counseling, treatment planning, implementation of treatment plan, educational services, assessing effectiveness of services, crisis intervention, psychopharmacology, collaboration with other agencies/service providers and documentation of all services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assessments as required and appropriate via electronic health record.
  • Completes developmentally appropriate, efficient, and relevant treatment plans and treatment plan reviews electronically and implements such plans.
  • Provide clinical services as defined in the treatment plan and consult with other involved parties and refer for other services as needed.
  • Compiles and provides necessary feedback data with referral sources.
  • Will conduct in-office urinalysis when requested.
  • Maintains the electronic health record in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. This includes all forms required by the Agency, Medicaid, TANF, private insurance, etc.
  • Maintains attendance at staffing, trainings, meetings, etc. to keep current with agency, community, and treatment related issues.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of job-related services, electronic health record standards, policy and procedures related to individual’s care and documentation of all services.
  • Participates in clinical supervision to ensure resolutions of therapeutic and ethical dilemmas.
  • Will provide training to other employees as requested by their supervisor.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of Background, MVR and Federal Drug Free Workplace Screenings 

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION:

 License eligibility or CAP.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A master's degree in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or a related human services field.?


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
