Community Health Worker

Are you passionate about public health, community outreach, and helping individuals affected by the opioid crisis? Join our team as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and be on the front lines of education, prevention, and hope.

At Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare, we're committed to saving lives and reducing harm. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our Mobile MAR Program-bringing life-saving resources and information directly to the communities that need them most.

What You'll Do

As a CHW, you'll drive real impact in our community by:

  • Educating the public about opioid overdose prevention and how to use naloxone (Narcan)
  • Distributing FDA-approved overdose reversal medications and materials
  • Connecting with individuals who use opioids or have been affected by overdose-including families and support networks
  • Driving the Mobile Unit to outreach events, health fairs, and underserved areas
  • Representing SPBH at community events and promoting access to MAR services
  • Tracking outreach activities and maintaining accurate records for reporting

Who You Are

You're a compassionate, motivated individual who's comfortable engaging with diverse populations and has a strong desire to serve. Ideally, you have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (additional education in public health or social work is a plus)
  • Experience in community outreach, peer support, or health education
  • Knowledge of opioid use disorder (OUD), harm reduction, and overdose prevention
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust in the community
  • A valid driver's license and ability to operate a mobile outreach unit
  • Flexibility to work in varied environments, including rural and underserved areas

Why This Role Matters

This is not a clinical or case management role-it's about being present in the community, sharing resources, and creating connections. Everything you do helps build a healthier, safer community where more people can access the help they need-at no cost to them.

What You'll Get

  • A meaningful role helping to fight the opioid crisis head-on
  • Opportunities for professional development in public health and outreach
  • The chance to work with a supportive team committed to saving

Why Join Us?

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance - 85% of employee health premiums covered
  • 401(k) with company match - 50% match up to 6%
  • 11 paid holidays
  • Generous PTO - because your well-being matters, too
