Clinical Director

SUMMARY

Directs the planning, analyzing, development, coordinating and monitoring of the overall operations of the agency's clinical programs.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of Background, MVR and DFWP screenings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Florida LCSW, LMFT or LMHC with five to ten years related clinical experience preferable in a community mental health setting.  Previous managerial experience that includes directing staff, developing budgets and sound fiscal management. Proven ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Florida Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts. MCAP is also preferred.  Valid driver's license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Provide leadership within the agency and community to assure the fulfillment of the agency's vision, mission and strategic plan.
  • Ensure the highest standards of clinical and business practices are delivered and that professional standards of conduct are always adhered to both at work and in the community.
  • Help develop and implement new programs through innovative relevant and evidenced-based programming.
  • Directing, overseeing and ensuring that clinical practices are in compliance with rules and regulations of all oversight agencies, programs or grants.
  • Works with the Director of Quality Improvement to ensure agency compliance to outcomes as required by funding contracts, agency requirements and team standards.
  • Maintains a "Superuser" knowledge of the EMR and assists with troubleshooting related problems.
  • Provides weekly administrative and clinical supervision to team leaders and supervisors. 
  • Sets up clinical staff profile for programs, procedure codes, proxy, and supervisor. Verifies staff signing suffix and credentials are correct.
  • Help track and advocate for training and educational needs of clinical staff.
  • Works conjunctively with other departments to ensure quality of client care during open access
  • Ensures that adequate and appropriate staffing is maintained in all clinical locations.
  • Helps to coach potential leaders.
  • Maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Attends community meetings as applicable.
  • Oversees and assists with clinical program budget planning.
  • Has a working knowledge of the LSF contract, CARF, Medicaid, 65d30, 65e14, and grants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  
Supervision of Starting Point clinical department programs and staff including:

  • Provides support and coaching of Team Leaders and Supervisors through weekly supervision.
  • Ensuring Team Leaders have:
  • Ensures that team leaders and supervisors are adequately trained to perform their duties.

    • Completed end of month reviews of EMR
    • Maintained staff schedules to ensure correct availability of direct hours and administrative time.
    • Reviewed staff impact hours to identify trends and problem areas
    • Provided regular administrative and clinical supervision for all clinical staff.

  • Managing effective conflict resolution amongst clinical staff and leads.
  • Reviewing Corrective Action Plans and managing terminations when needed.
  • Reviews and signs off on all evaluations across the clinical department for continuity amongst individual teams.
  • Participates in interviews for all clinical positions to provide continuity between interviews and to help mentor Team Leaders in the selection of candidates.
