ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise, mentor, and support billing staff to meet performance goals and maintain accuracy.
  • Oversee all phases of the revenue cycle, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, denials management, and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing requirements. 
  • Audit billing processes regularly to identify issues, track trends, and implement process improvements.
  • Resolve escalated billing and collections issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper documentation and coding.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as A/R, denial rates, and cash flow.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on payer rules, contract requirements, and compliance updates.
  • Support financial reporting and reconciliations during month-end close.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, improve collections, and reduce revenue leakage.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience.
  • At least 2 years in billing is strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.

SKILLS

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare billing requirements, including Medicaid/Medicare and commercial payers.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to build and lead a collaborative, high-performing team.
