QUALIFICATIONS

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of Background, MVR and DFWP
Screenings.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION
Certified mental health professional, and/or
certified addictions professional or eligible to obtain certification
preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the field of
counseling, social work, psychology or a related human services field.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written
forms.
SUMMARY
Provides screenings, assessments, diagnosing,
treatment planning, educational services, crisis intervention, referral,
collaboration with other agencies/service providers using a trauma-informed
resilience-oriented approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following.
- Performs same-day
walk-in assessments to determine the need and appropriateness for outpatient
services.
- Completes
developmentally appropriate, efficient, and relevant treatment plans
electronically and implements such plans.
- Provides
trauma-informed resilience services using evidence-based/evidence-informed practices
as and consults with other involved parties and refers for other services as
needed.
- Compiles and shares
necessary feedback data with referral sources.
- Maintains the
electronic health record in a timely, complete and accurate manner. This
includes all forms required by the Agency, Medicaid, 65D30, TANF, private
insurance, SAMHSA, etc.
- Attendance at staff
training, meetings, etc. to keep current with agency, community, and
treatment-related issues.
- Demonstrates an
understanding of job-related services, electronic health record standards,
policy and procedures related to individuals served, and documentation of all
services.
- Participates in
clinical supervision to ensure resolution of therapeutic and ethical dilemmas.
- Participates as a team
member and contributes to the enhancement of the department and Agency.
- Performs other duties
as assigned/required.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
- Strong
clerical/administrative skills including personal computer skills (i.e.,
Microsoft Office software)
- Ability to make
routine decisions and determine proper action based on experience within the
limits of policy and procedures.
- Effective
organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple activities with
changing priorities simultaneously.
- Good oral/written
communication skills, effective listening and interpersonal and good oral
presentation skills with small and large groups.
- Ability to work
effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages and economic backgrounds.
- Competencies in
strategic thinking, as well as an appreciation of the benefits of collaborative
intra- and inter-departmental functioning
- Sensitivity,
assertiveness, diplomacy, and an astute understanding of mental health as
required to answer questions, reassure, educate, advise and guide individuals
through the initial stages of screening, intake, and referral process.
